I am Leanne Taylor, an artist based in Western Sydney.
My studio back onto the beautiful Hunts Creek and Bakala Falls, an amazing place for daily inspiration, my work is deeply rooted in nature.
My artistic focus revolves around infusing indoor spaces with the colours and lively botanical elements that I encounter outdoors and I strive to capture its essence by infusing my pieces with vibrant, bold, and quirky botanical elements. While I don't adhere strictly to realism, my intention is to produce pieces that could plausibly belong to my local surroundings or places I've explored.
My artistic journey has largely been self-directed, allowing me to cultivate techniques and approaches that resonate with me through experimentation. Mixed media, textured pattern , collage, and linocut printing form the cornerstone of my process. My workspace is a medley of acrylic inks, paints, watercolours, prints, handmade papers, charcoal, pens, and whatever sparks my creative curiosity.
I have had had the privilege of exhibiting in various Sydney galleries and successfully showcasing and selling my creations both online and offline.
I find immense satisfaction in producing art that radiates the exuberant and offbeat facets of nature, imparting joy to myself and those who engage with my work.
I encourage you to check out my latest works where you can find out so much more about my art by just looking at it than I will ever be able to put into words, the people who are closest to me will tell you I’m not much of a talker, in fact I’m quite the introvert, preferring to spend my time just hanging out at home with my supplies or a good book and a cuppa.
When I am not painting or dreaming up new ideas, there's a good chance you will find me, In the garden with Jason, hunting for vintage treasures, visiting the theatre with my daughter or looking for travel tips for my next holiday
